Bio: I grew up in what my wife calls Pleasantville. I grew up with my mom and dad and older brother and younger sister in Arlington, Texas. I graduated from Arlington High School in 1995 and spent the next 3 years of my life enjoying Austin, Texas as much as I could and doing what I needed to to get through The University of Texas. I much enjoyed my time in Austin, learning how to live on my own, learning how others lived very much alone, and growing in my faith. I have always seen my time in Austin as very much a time where I learned to be firmly planted on the Truth of God and to attempt to see the world through God's eyes rather than my own. University was a time when the religion of what I did on Sundays, was replaced by a faith that sustained me and change my very life.
After Austin, was 3 years living in the Chicagoland area. I figure Chicago to be just about the best place in the world to live if you have to live outside Texas. I had a great time learning and continuing to grow at both Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (as if either school could think of a longer name). After those 3 years of classroom work, I came back to Texas to do a semester of Clinical Pastoral Education at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
After graduation from seminary, I have served in two appointments before coming here to Foundation in June of 2007. I was first appointed to the two point charge of Bangs/Mullin in Oct. 2002, and then as an associate at First UMC in Killeen in June of 2004. I have been thankful for each of my appointments and the diversity of the congregations I have been so fortunate to have served. I truly am amazed at the way in which God can get you just where you need to be when you need to be there.
I have been here at Foundation since June of 2007, and I feel so blessed to have this great responsibility to lead this congregation. Here at Foundation we are a community who truly strive to know God more and to grow God's kingdom. I am so proud of the hard work of faith development that goes on here that is carried beyond the walls of the building.
